Episode summary
A year has passed since Robin of Loxley's death; the band of outlaws has scattered, and the people's enemies savor their triumph. Now, a Norman nobleman and Earl's son, Robert of Huntingdon, has been chosen by Herne the Hunter to continue Robin's work and lead the resistance in Sherwood. Though Huntingdon is appalled by the oppression and cruelty he witnesses daily, he is unwilling to relinquish his privileges (and responsibilities) to lead the life of a poor outcast in Sherwood. But after an ill-fated party brings Marion of Leaford to Huntingdon Castle - where she ...

Fun and viewer review
With the death of Robin of Loxley in the finale of season 2, "Robin of Sherwood" continues with Herne the Hunter summoning a new Robin Hood. This time it is Robert of Huntington, the son of an earl.
The episode begins immediately after Robin's death, when Robert goes to Herne and denies his destiny. He doesn't think he can lead Robin's men, or be accepted by them.
A year passes, and Maid Marian comes to Huntington. At the same time, Lord Owen of Clun is visiting. Owen becomes obsessed with Marian, ultimately kidnapping her to be his wife. Robert realizes he must save her and reassemble Robin's men to help him. This will not be easy after so much time has passed, though. They have gone their separate ways after a quarrel.
Jason Connery does a fine job stepping into the role of Robin Hood. He is an opposite to the previous Robin, which I think was done to keep fans from feeling like they were simply trying to replace him. Michael Praed, the original Robin, was dark haired and his character a commoner. Jason is blonde and his character the son of an earl.
"Robin of Sherwood" is one of the best takes on Robin Hood, in either TV or film. There is a deep mysticism to the Sherwood Richard Carpenter has created, and a conflict between Christianity and the more pagan religions. I hope this becomes available on DVD in the US soon!

Episode summary
Robert of Huntingdon and the re-formed Merry Men set out to rescue Marion from Clun, and Huntingdon claims the mantle of Robin of Sherwood.

Fun and viewer review
Robert of Huntington has realized that he must accept his place as Herne's son in order to rescue Marian from Lord Owen of Clun. He goes to Wickham and gets help from Edward in starting to track down Robin's now scattered men.
First is Tuck, who has stayed in Sherwood. A small scuffle ensues, but Robert gets his attention by mentioning the danger Marian is in. Tuck leads him to Little John and Much, who have become shepherds. As with Tuck, though, Robert must win them over, this time with a nicely choreographed quarterstaff fight. Little John remembers Scarlett had a brother in Litchfield, so that's the next stop. This was, by far, the best "winning over" scene. Scarlett and Robert get into a fistfight that pretty much leaves Litchfield in shambles. That just leaves Nasir, who, conveniently enough, has been caught by Lord Owen.
It's good to have the gang back together, though they are still a bit skeptical. Marian, in particular, is not willing to stay permanently, choosing to return to her father for now. These two opening episodes do a nice job setting up Jason Connery in the role of Robin and setting up a good season.

Episode summary
Rumours are spreading through Nottinghamshire, that Robin Hood is back from the dead with a vengeance and that the band of outlaws once again operates in Sherwood Forest. Suspecting that the Lady Marion might try to communicate with her old friends, the Sheriff sets a watch upon her home of Leaford Grange, and when a severe injury to the outlaws' leader moves Marion to risk helping him, she is caught and taken with the sword Albion to Nottingham Castle. Robert of Huntingdon must then use cunning and subterfuge - and, perhaps, the mysterious power of Albion - to rescue...

Will Scarlet: Well I think he's had his bad luck!
Richard of Leaford: Where is Robert of Huntington?
Will Scarlet: There ain't no Robert of Huntington in Sherwood.
Little John: Here, he's Robin Hood.

Episode summary
Friar Tuck saves a young woman from being attacked in the forest and brings her back to the outlaws' camp. In the middle of the night, the woman wakes Robert and identifies herself as the daughter of his godfather, Lord Agrivaine, explaining that the two of them, alone, must go to him at once at Caerleon Castle. In Caerleon, the dying Agrivaine explains that he is leaving Robert a great inheritance, but in order to get it, he first must defend it - for, as they speak, a group of robbers and villains is approaching the castle, determined to steal its treasure.

Fun and viewer review
Raven: I'm a soldier, Mortimer, so are all of us. You take Skulley there, he used to be a page to a knight Chevalier before he cut the man's throat to follow me. We fought three years for God in the Crusades, their holy war (he spits angrily) Three stinking lousy years in the heat and the dust and the filth, dying of thirst, starvation and disease before we even set eyes on a Saracen! They promised us a seat in heaven and they sent us to hell. So now we work for ourselves, soldiers of fortune, and this village has just had the misfortune to get in our way!
Isadora: I'll fight with you. This is my home, I've lived here all my life. It should be my inheritance, but I'm to lose it. Why? Because I'm a woman. You treat me like a fool, but you don't even see what's here.
Robert of Huntington: Well what is here?
Isadora: It's been in front of your eyes and you haven't seen it and that's how you'll fight - blindly! But I'll fight because it's rightfully mine and I know it's worth fighting for. So tell me Robin, which of the two of us does that make the fool?

Episode summary
Will and Much run into a group of lepers traveling through the forest, and Will becomes convinced that he is contaminated and doomed to a horrible death. Meanwhile, the other outlaws protect an elderly pilgrim from being killed by robbers and, as the woman is sick and alone, they accompany her on her journey to a local abbey, which houses a miraculous healing relic of the saint Ciricus. Convinced, however, that she will die before they reach the abbey and its magical cross, the lady asks Friar Tuck to hear her final confession. Her secrets - and her identity - place a...

Fun and viewer review
I meant for the right-wing revisionists (typically Holocaust Deniers) it's very ''uncomformtable'' that Robin Hood Hood existed because it's proves that laws were indeed bad. Unfortunetly for them, there are certain evidence that Robin Hood was the Son of Earl of Huntington, therefore a Norman aristocrat himself. Jason Connery portrays a Norman Robin in Series 3. Richard I was a horrible politician in contrast with his father Henry II. His Crusade and wars were very unfortunete for England.

Episode summary
King John wearies of having Nottingham's tax money constantly stolen by Robin Hood and his gang; realising that Robin Hood thrives because the common people trust and support him, the King sets out to tarnish Robin Hood's reputation and thus turn the people against him. John orders his man Roger de Carnac to gather a gang of outlaw "impersonators" who, dressed as Robin Hood and the Merry Men, begin to kill, burn, and rob their way trough the villages of Nottinghamshire.

Fun and viewer review
Obviously, in the first two seasons Robin Hood of Loxley is played by Michael Preaed. Michael Preaed left the RoS for Broadway's Three Musketeers. In third series of RoS Robin Hood of Huntington is played by Jason Connery, son of the great Scottish actor Sean Connery. The first Robin Hood of Loxley is the Anglo-Saxon commoner and the second Robin Hood of Huntington is a Norman aristocrat, son of Earl of Huntington.

Episode summary
John decides to marry his long-time girlfriend Meg and leave the band of outlaws. The wedding plans are halted, however, when Lord Edgar, Robert's uncle, reaches Sherwood Forest with the news that Robert's father has been accused of treason by the King. An anonymous informer has testified that he overheard the Earl of Huntingdon hiring a witch to curse the King; the King, being inexplicably ill, comes to believe that his illness is indeed due to witchcraft. John orders the Earl imprisoned, and Robert must clear his father's name before it's too late.

Fun and viewer review
Excellent choice. It's far better to buy the Robin of Sherwood, the cult series from the 80's faithful to the realaity of the XII\XII England, Robin Hood ballads and English Folklore instead of some completly made up, false crap. Thank you for your support for RoS.
